Fan Zi Ying Jow Pai

Scope of practise

The program is designed to develop a complete Martial Artists. That include development on different levels: physical body, energy, and mental state. There are two levels of body development: common and uncommon levels of flexibility and conditioning. Among uncommon methodologies the most well known is "72 arts of Shaolin". One of such special methods is a "Ying Jow Li" (development of strength of eagle claw).

Work with energy (chi) has several levels:

  1. Searching for energy
  2. Observing energy
  3. Leading energy
  4. Releasing energy.

Work on the level of mind:

Development of mental capacities has 3 most prominent traditions in Chinese Martial Arts: Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism.
Buddhist approach is to develop "mirror like wisdom", when cognition is bypassing process of mentation. This stratagy is based on Chan Buddhism methodology practised at Shaolin temple.
Taoism has several approaches, which could be simplified as following:

  1. Realisation of nature and character of movements and tactics of different animals
  2. Comprehension of all mind/energy states and movements as manifestation of 5 primary elements.
  3. Recognition of all movements and states as manifestations of 2 primordial polarities: Yin and Yang

Confucianism insisted that martial artist must cultivate celestial qualities and virtues in order to become proper channel for celestial power.
